At Green World we care about the earth and all its life (including people), which is why we make sustainable and regenerative landscapes for now and for future generations. We specialize in permaculture—the practice of designing landscapes that work with nature to create sustainable, self sufficient spaces. This means we focus on creating gardens that are not only beautiful but also environmentally friendly, low-maintenance, and did we mention they can help you save tons of money?

By mimicking natural ecosystems, we aim to create designs that help conserve water, reduce waste, and support local wildlife through practices such as rainwater harvesting, composting and using native plants all while meeting your own unique needs. Whether you’re looking to grow your own food, create a wildlife-friendly space, or simply reduce your environmental impact, our permaculture-based designs offer practical solutions that work with nature, not against it.

Our Principles
Our designs are rooted in permaculture principles ensuring your outdoor space is just as eco-friendly as it is beautiful. We follow the three basic principles of permaculture in all our designs which are:
- Earth Care: We use techniques that enrich the soil, save and redistribute resources such as water, and promote biodiversity. Supporting healthy ecosystems for everybody, from you and your family to all of earth’s creatures is our top priority.
- People Care: We design beautiful and functional spaces that not only look good but support your lifestyle and wellbeing. From bountiful kitchen gardens, lush food forests or just a peaceful retreat to relax and unwind, we create a space tailored for you.
- Fair Share: We maximize resources and limit consumption by designing systems that balance what we take with what we give back to the world. With practices like rainwater harvesting, we encourage sustainable landscapes that thrive without giving more than they take.

Meet Our Designer

Hi! I’m Blaine! I’m a certified Permaculture Designer, lifelong nature lover, plant nerd and the owner at Green World. Join me in my passion for creating sustainable and beautiful gardens that nurture our planet.
Find out more about me and how Green World got started down below:
My appreciation for the outdoors has been lifelong, many of my earliest memories are of learning how to recognize edible and useful plants with my father and of gardening lessons with my grandmother. Although I always loved the outdoors, I didn’t recognize my passion for plants and design at first and I pursed a degree in my other passion, Psychology, from the University of South Carolina and began working with special needs children after.
During this time, I started gardening on my own wherever anyone would loan me some space as I had no property of my own. I began planting in the traditional ways, using weed fabrics, fertilizers, relying on irrigation and such. It was expensive, time consuming, produced low yields relative to the cost and effort and the garden was not full of life. However, I knew of places where I gathered tons of wild blackberries, muscadines and other wild treats where no one was fighting the weeds, watering every other day, dumping fertilizer or spending anytime at all. And these places were full of life, from birds and small animals, insects to fungi and the occasional persons that recognized a wild treat. I knew that all the plants I was trying to grow should be able to do so without all my endless interventions, it was just a matter of getting them to do it.
It just happened that at this time my grandmother, who I had spent so much time gardening with and who knew of my frustrations, gifted me the book Gaia’s Garden by Toby Hemenway. It was my first introduction to permaculture and is still one of my first recommendations to those who want to learn more. I discovered more about permaculture and knew it was my passion so I took a certification course and started gathering all the information on permaculture and garden design I could find.
And then I started what I envision, a Green World.
Here at Green World, we are dedicated to creating beautiful, sustainable landscapes that harmonize with nature and in teaching you how to care for them. We pride ourselves in creating designs that are specifically designed and suited to you and your unique space. I can’t wait to help you bring your garden visions to life while taking care of the earth we all cherish!
